Frank Serpico is the leading role in this film. This is a film about his life between the times of him graduating to the police force to his near demise around ten years later.
He was forever fighting the causes of police corruption and brutality and with no or little prevail, things began to worsen.
I can only think that Frank Serpico was flawed in the way of his defiance to comply with what was going on around him, which some people will agree with and some won’t.
Also the stress of this going on in his life leaves others in his life at the edge of his personal surroundings.

The whole film is about this period in his life, and how the affect of the events around him take their toll on Frank Serpico and the constant frustration.
